Before Liven Bags existed, our core team spent five years inside a traditional OEM operation — and during those years, we worked specifically with the kinds of clients the bigger factories couldn’t accommodate.

Independent designers walking in with sketches. DTC founders prototyping their first product. Kickstarter teams trying to fulfill on time. We learned how these clients actually work — what their briefs look like, where their development bottlenecks are, which problems they don’t even know to ask about — long before we ever set up our own table.

We watched the same conversations end the same way: “Three hundred minimum, per color. We can’t.” Genuinely original ideas — a modular diaper bag that grows with the child, a backpack with a built-in pet profile display, a foldable recycling tote for community clean-up days — were getting turned away because the order math didn’t work.

After enough of those conversations, one question became hard to ignore: what would a manufacturing partner actually built for these clients look like?
